The New World

So, The New World wa  pretty good movie...It took Smith and Pocahontas more that a loos to fall in love, which is good...and the Powhatans didn't magically know english like in the Disney movie...and unlike the Avartar: The Last Airbender movie, they actually cast Native Americans in most of the roles...

The only MAJOR issue I had, was John Smith had an Irish accent...not a Brittish...and I'm pretty sure he was Brittish...oh, and it did bug me a bit that they didn't portray Pocahontas as the 10 year old girl she was...even though it seems weird to us now, that's how it was though

Rose Is A Sucky Blogger

So, I know I suck at blogging for 3 reasons:

1. I haven't posted in, like, forever.
2. I have a single follower, who's Mixie, and she doesn't count because I tell her all this stuff outside of the bloging world, and she's my best friend and has no choice but to follow it...so:
3. No one follows my blog

basically, yeah.

so, to finish off, I'm about to watch this movie, and it has this guy in it. who's so attractive, it's insane:

That's Colin Farrell in The New World (The New World is a live action-Pocahontas...I'll tell the nobodies who read my blog how good of a movie it is some other time)

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 3

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 3; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban; Difficulty: Hard

In the Gryffindor versus Slytherin Quidditch match in Harry's third year, how many points is Gryffindor leading by before Harry catches the snitch? Multiply this number by 35.

ANSWER TO DAY 2:

So, the chapter where McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match is chapter 14, so multiplied out you got 588, and then when you put that at the end of the url, you got sent to the photo albums page of the Warner Brothers Harry Potter site...and after a few minutes, the magic quill appeared as one of the photos in the album, and you just had to click it to access the registration page!

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 2

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 2; Chamber of Secrets; Difficulty: Hard

What is the number of the chapter in which Professor McGonagall cancels the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff? Multiply this number by 42.

ANSWER TO DAY 1:
So, the answer to Day 1 of the Magic Quill Challenge was: 245. There were 5 types of owls featured of Eeylope's sign: Tawny, Screech, Barn, Brown, and Snowy. Multiply that out, and you get 588. You then had to catch a feather, and could then begin the registration process!!! =D

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 1

So, for those of you who don't know what Pottermore is....you're stupid (in the nicest way possible). You should find out: www.pottermore.com. But, I TOTALLY GOT IT!! FIRST DAY!!! YEAAAAAAH!!!! And so I've decided to post each day's Magic Quill Challenge questions, and see how many y'all can get right. The next day I'll post the new question, and the previous day's answer. Basically, I'm just re-posting from Pottermore, no copyright infringement intended, and all rights reserved by Warner Bros. and JKR...etc...etc...don't sue me please, I a'int got no money to give!! But basically, Pottermore will be open to the general public on 1 October, but the lucky first million people to find the Magic Quill and answer it's question will get to be BETA testers!!! AND I'M ONE OF THEM!!!! YAAAAY!!! (have to wait a few weeks though =/) ANYWAYS, here's 31 July's question:

Pottermore Magic Quill Challenge; Day 1; Philosopher's Stone; Difficulty: Hard

How many breeds of owl are featured on the Eeylops Owl Emporium sign? Multiply this number by 49.

GOOD LUCK! NO CHEATING!!

OH! AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY POTTER!!! <3

When Movies Defile Their Inspiration

I HATE IT when I hear about a movie coming out, and it's based off a book, or a story, or a television series, and then the movie comes out, and it's twisted the plot until the movie is unrecognizable, save the title which somehow, (since it's always the same as the original story) makes up for the movie no longer being what the story portrayed. On rare occasions the movie comes out great, like (for the most part) the Harry Potter movies...but other times the resulting movie is a crime against nature. I don't know if the screenwriter was on drugs, or if the director took a red pen to a previously good script draft...but there are so many TERRIBLE movies based off a book/story/television series. Case in point:

Where the Wild Things Are
Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
Alice in Wonderland (the Tim Burton one)
Twilight Saga (M'kay, COULD have been okay, if they had a good script, good actors, and a better director)

My mind is spacing right now...but I'll post some more when I think of them

Henna, Golfing, and Long Car Rides

So, I went to visit family a few states north...drove there...I went a little mentally insane. I didn't have a book on the ride back (finished it on the ride up...I didn't realize it would take me apx. 14 hours to read 757 pages...) so I had NOTHING to do!! I started to act weiiiird....like, I made a "spider-hand" and I started talking to the other cars...one of my repeating lines was "If there is a god, MAY HE SPITE THIS FREEWAY!" I screamed that out the window a few times...but while we were driving, we stopped in this kitchy little town, and they were having some Independence Day festivities, and I got a henna! (I'll post a photo later) =D

AAANNNDD, when I was visiting family, my cousin (who works at a golf course...makes a LOT of money on tips apparently...) decided he wanted to take me to the driving range...I DIDN'T SUCK!!! =DDD Haha! But I was definitely rather sore!! xD

Biking

So, I am by no means out of shape, but I'm not exactly in shape... So I decided to go on a bike ride yesterday...and when I got home I was curious as to how far I biked, and I know that this may not seem like a lot to some people, but it was for me! I biked about 6 1/2 miles...@_@

Again, Making Mixie Proud!

Soooo, I just continue to make Mixie proud! So, there's this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G second hand store in downtown that Mixie and I go to a lot, because, basically, THRIFTING IS AWESOME! And, so I found this a-dorable pair of "booties" today, and I decided to buy them, their actually pretty comfortable too! [see below for photos] and so my friend, who we'll call...The Artist....was with me, and he was like, "OOOOHHH! You should buy those! They're super hot!!" and me, being all d'aaawww, caved and bought them. I mean, I only own ten other pairs of heels, (two of which are black heels, and three of which are black boots) what's one more? And, in reality, I didn't own any booties yet...so 's all good! And so I buy them, and he's looking at them, and he goes, "Ohh! They're Steve Madden! These are nice shoes," and we leave it at that.

So, I get home, and I look at them, and I wonder, "Hmmm....I wonder how much these actually cost..." So, I go onto Steve Madden's website, and I'm looking around, and I find the closest pair to them that I could...guess how much? $189.99! And guess how much I bought them for? $18! SCORE! I mean, that is a GREAT find!! A few hours later The Artist and his family come over for barbeque, and I tell him and his mom, and they BOTH just look at me, mouths slightly agape, in shock. Basically, y'all should go thrifting, 'cause you can find barely worn, $190 adorable shoes for absurdly cheap prices!! =D

OH YEAH! And Mixie would ALSO be proud, because I can see her wearing these shoes, in fact, she has a fairly similar pair to these in grey...TWINSIES! =)

Homeless People

Okay, so, I am not one of those people who see a homeless person and freak out, I'm totally cool with them...I feel bad for them, and am more than willing to give them food and work in soup kitchens. BUT I feel like when you're walking down a street in downtown, and you see a homeless person, and they have a DOG, it's like, "UHHHHMMMM, you can't afford a home, you're asking for money for food for yourself, HOW THE HECK DO YOU AFFORD A DOG?? I feel like they're abusing the dog...

Also, I don't think people should give money to homeless people...Now I know that not ALL of them do this, but a LOT of them go out, and, with the money people give them, they buy drugs or alcohol...so, I think people should give them food! I hang out in downtown a lot, and Mixie and I got noodles once, and I got dumplings, and I had, like, 5 of them left..and we gave it to some homeless guy on the street, I mean, c'mon! Who doesn't like dumplings?? And a friend of mine always tells a story about how her aunt went in and bought a guy a banana when he asked for money once...

Bottomline: dumplings are yummy!

Mixie Would Be Proud!

So, as some of you may know...(well most of you...because I think everyone who reads this blog knows me personally) I have CRAZY curly hair. And I VERY RARELY wear it down. Well, there have been two outings now (one was a babyshower, and one was I went to see Super 8 with my dad [That was a REALLY good movie, btw! Y'all should go and see it!]) where I've worn my hair down. Granted, I had to use a boatload of anti-frizz in my hair, and a bit of hairspray, but I found that I sort of liked it...It looks kind of cute...hehe xD (I'm super self-conscious about my hair, so it's saying a lot for me to go out in public with it down for the entire outing) And wearing my hair down is something that Mixie is ALWAYS trying to get me to do...Sorry you weren't there to see it though, Mixie! We'll just have to convene at a later date so I can show you my new awesome styling skills of my hair!!

For those of you who might be curious, my hair sort of looks like this (except a bit more frizzing...xD and a little longer)

Crazy Fan Girl's Dream Come True

So, I was in Italy for the past few weeks, and I had an amazing time! I loved every moment of it! Up until the morning of the day of my flight. I was staying in the home of a girl and her family, and I came to love them very much. And sadly, the chances of me ever seeing them again are VERY slim. So it was a very sad day. BUT, the day quickly picked up when I got to the airport. Who was there but MAYDAY PARADE! My all time favorite band! And, get this, THEY WERE ON MY FLIGHT!!

I'm a little tired of telling this story so i'll jsut recap it, I got their autographs, I am now best friends with one of them, took a photo with them, and got hugs from them all. So, all in all, it made a REALLY sucky day A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! <3 They're all around awesome dudes, they were totally sweet and nice, and kept saying thank you to me, which I, of course, kept saying thank you back to. And they were totally fine with my semi-overwhelmed, fan girl, star struck attitude!

So, for all of you who don't know Mayday Parade (SHAME ON YOU!) here's some photos, a video of one of their songs, and some songs that you should listen to of theirs!

Vegetarian Options

So, there's this thing called being a vegetarian (which I, for all intents and purposes am.) And, for some reason, when events that provide food have a "vegetarian option" it always SUCKS.

I recently went to a graduation dinner for a family member graduating from college, and her school at the college had a dinner provided after the baccalaureate mass. They were serving a pork chop on rice with mushrooms, asparagus, and something else (I don't remember, I wasn't eating it). So, the guy comes and goes to put a plate in front of me, and I stop him and ask, "Do you have a vegetarian option?" and he says, "Oh yes, of course, hold on." Now, this guy, he was really sweet, and he went off and got me the vegetarian option. But when he comes back and puts it down in front of me, it's a plate of rice (with, like, sweet raisins in it), tomatoes, and cauliflower. Okay. Now, who's the dumba** who thought vegetarians aren't hungry people too? And that we don't like meaningful, hearty, yummy meals? Okay, that "vegetarian option" was more like a "we have a bunch of junk in the pantry, let's put it on a plate and call it a meal!" Made me mad, but of course I ate it, I was hungry, I'd just sat through a long ceremony!

But really, my point is, that often the "vegetarian options" SUCK! It's like if you have an allergy to wheat and you ask for a non-wheat option, or if you're allergic to egg and you ask for the non-egg option, etc. they always bring  some cruddy, half-a** plate of junk. It bugs me...a lot.

Nyan Cat

This, my friends, is the Nyan Cat. I was introduced to him by my cousin, whom we'll call Monkey. So, Monkey and I have a lot of weird jokes...we pretend to be goldfish for example =D. And, periodically, if one of us finds something particularly entertaining, we'll share it with the other. This was a recent video that he sent to me...it's 3 hours, 39 minutes and 41 seconds long...be afraid, be VERY AFRAID!

(Oh, and if anyone wants to be REALLY SUPER AWESOME, here's the interactive version!! It's super addictive! http://www.mofunzone.com/online_games/nyan_cat_fly.shtml)

The Rose Trilogy

So, there's this song that I've known for ages, and I though I'd share it, unfortunately the tune cannot be heard, seeing as it is just the lyrics...lol

Rose, rose, rose, rose
Will I ever see thee wed?
I will marry at thy will
Sire at they will.

Oh poor bird,
Why art thou
Flying in the shadows
At this dark hour.

Hey, ho, nobody's home.
Meat, nor drink, nor money have I now,
But I will be merry,
Hey, ho, nobody's home.

This was the best version I could find online...except the weird final second or two, it's a pretty good version of it =) sung w/ the tune I know, too.

Starkid

[there's some minor inappropriate  material in this post, in relation to the Starkid production of M&MD]

So, there's this AMAZING group of people, Team Starkid, and they are, by a long-shot, my FAVORITE group of people EVER!

This is their logo

Team Starkid consists of a bunch of young adults, a lot of whom graduated from University of Michigan in 2009. They're the masterminds behind: "A Very Potter Musical;" "Me & My Dick;" "A Very Potter Sequel;" "Starship;" and "Little White Lie." Their an extremely talented bunch of actors/writers/dancers/musicians who inspire me SO much!

These are some group shots, in all, I believe they cover all of the [major] Starkids:

Team Starkid is, for the most part, led by Darren Criss, the amazing curly-haired dude who plays Harry Potter in AVPM and AVPS and has written the music and lyrics of a LOT of the songs in the aforementioned productions. This, my friends, is Darren Criss:

(Main Characters: Harry; [Dick in original short version]; Harry; n/a)

Now, some of you Gleeks may recognize him as Blaine from that boys' school in Season 2 of "Glee"...but let me say, that us Starkid fans RULE his fanclub, because we've loved him since AVPM =)

There's also a couple other really awesome people who are Starkids:

JOEY RICHTER
Joey Richter Oh My
(MCs: Ron; Joey; Ron; Bug)

JOE WALKER
(MCs: Voldemort; Dick; Umbridge; Up)

LAUREN LOPEZ
(MCs: Draco; n/a; Draco; Taz/Bugette)

JAIMY LYN BEATTY
(MCs: Ginny; Sally; Ginny/Rita Skeeter; Chorus)

JOE MOSES
(MCs: Snape; n/a; Snape; Starship Ranger)

BRIAN HOLDEN

image
(MCs: n/a; Flopsy; Lupin; Jr./Mosquito)

DYLAN SAUNDERS
(MCs: Dumbledore; n/a; Dumbledore; Tootsie Noodle-->Tootsie MegaGirl)

NICK LANG
(MCs: Director; Director; Mr. Weasly; a bug)

JIM POVOLO
(MCs: Goyle; n/a; Firenz/Death Eater/ Goyle; Queen Bug)

And those are my favorite Starkids!

Basically, I think you should all go and check out the musicals (and web series) and marvel and drool at their totally awesomeness. And then you can join the ranks in quoting those who are SuperMegaAwesomeFoxyHot, and Red Vines, and how killing people doesn't make them like you...it just makes them dead...or how you NEVER tell a girl you like her, it makes you look like an idiot! =)

OH and you can buy/download all their songs too!!!!! =DDDD
